CRNet is the UK-wide membership association for Christian residential venues and organisations — from camps and holiday centres to retreat houses, conference centres, outdoor‑activity centres and more.
Their core mission is to promote and support Christian residential ministry across the UK — enabling people of all ages, especially children and young people, to encounter Christ and grow in faith through retreats, camps, holiday centres and other residential experiences.
CRNet administers the David Chilcott Fund, providing bursaries to help children and young people who could not otherwise afford to attend Christian holidays, camps, or residential stays. Awards are paid directly to the camp providers and are targeted to those in greatest financial need.
Bursaries awarded in 2025:
200 young people supported
£20,364 awarded
20 different summer camp providers
CRNet serves three inter‑connected purposes:
Support and strengthen its member organisations — providing practical resources, guidance, training, networking (regional meetings, national conference), consultancy, HR/Health & Safety advice, and more.
Promote visibility of Christian residential venues and services — via their “VenueFinder”, holiday/retreat listings, jobs board, and free or discounted promotion for members.
Advocate and represent the sector — engaging with national policy or regulatory issues (e.g. law, safeguarding, charity legislation, inspection regimes) to ensure that Christian residential ministries can operate effectively and fairly.
In addition, CRNet runs a trading subsidiary, Christian Supply Chain Buying Group (CSCBG), which helps its members — churches, charities, residential venues — to access discounted supplies and services (food, accommodation‑related supplies, utilities, insurance, training, etc.). The trading surpluses from CSCBG are reinvested back into Christian residential ministry across the UK.
Through this combination of support, promotion, and advocacy, CRNet aims to enable Christian residential ministries to flourish — ensuring that more people get the chance to experience spiritually‑shaping residential retreats, camps and holidays.
